As a preclinical med student, I recognized the many benefits that came with using Anki for studying. However, I dreaded doing 800 cards a day, so I gave up on Anki completely after my first semester in med school.
As I finished the preclinical stage of my studies and started preparing for the STEP 1 exam, I quickly realized that this would be a hard task to overcome without Anki. So I told myself, 'this time will be different. This time, I will get myself a remote for Anki, spare myself the physical exhaustion, and save the life of my spacebar so I can stay consistent.'
I got one of those generic Bluetooth gaming remotes, and it absolutely did not meet my expectations. The setup was difficult, it required a constant background program, there was lag, missed inputs, and the battery life drained quickly. I told myself I could definitely do better, and so I did.
I created the Scope Remote, a remote that checked everything on my list. I hope it checks off your list too.
